Over 10 sessions develop your creative ideas through printing and dyeing processes.

Use experimental printing materials such as sponges, discarded packaging, found objects, and lino and play with mark making, over printing and pattern.

Learn how to create patterned textiles using shibori indigo resist dying techniques.

Your experiments may lead to an outcome such as a tea towel, cushion cover, apron or series of experimental samples.

The emphasis is on fun, experimentation and an open minded approach to print and dye.

Most materials are supplied although you will need to bring the following:

  • Plain white or lightly coloured linen/cotton (approx 2- 4 metres, this could be repurposed fabric such as sheets) or plain cotton/linen tote bags, tea towels, apron, or mixture of each.

  • Small pieces of plain cotton/linen fabric for testing

  • A4/A3 Sketchbook

  • A selection of drawing materials e.g. 2B pencil, black fine-liner

  • Hairdryer (optional)
